  • Empty Streets by Aim High

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! On today’s instalment of Grace rambles about small bands and their latest releases, we have Aim High with their latest single Empty Streets.  Now, we all know I’m a sucker for a good Aim High release, and they always put out belters of tracks! This track features Driveways, it has a different vibe to previous tracks, but as we've spoken about before, Aim High tend to change their sound with each track, or nearly every track. Never drastic changes, but noticeable. This track is very unique, there's a lot of different tempo changes. There's a noticeable change between the verses and chorus, but it's a sound I'm here for. The bridge in the track is insane. This is such a great track it's an impactful track. This is honestly a belter. This is such a surreal track, honestly a belter. This may not be my favourite track from Aim High but it's definitely one worth checking out and showing some love about. This is honestly such a banger, and it's probably in my top 5 Aim High tracks. It definitely packs a punch, and it hits the spot. It does great things, and it's got such a great beat to it. It just radiates good vibes, and it makes you want to lose your shit to it. It's incredible. I really like this track and the whole vibe of it. It's a decent track, and I really do like it. I love the beat to it, and some of the lyrics are great too. There's nothing I can complain about, I love the lyrics, the vocals, the drums, the bass, the guitar, the whole feel of the track, and the way it makes me feel. It's a decent track. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with it, it's probably a 4 out of 5 lemons for me. However, it is a song that when I first heard it I liked but didn't love, and the more I listen to it the more it grows on me. So, I do like this track, and I think it's got a cool vibe to it, and I'd 100% recommend going and checking it out because it's a great track and one that really does pack a punch .  Where To Find Aim High;  Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube Apple Music  Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Pink Alligator by Those Without

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I’m super excited to be talking to you about Pink Alligator by Those Without. Now, Those Without are a band I’ve listened to for a few months and I’ve liked the releases they’ve put out. However, no previous track has got me as hyped as Pink Alligator did.  Knowing what sort of tracks Those Without put out, I was pretty excited for this release, and I had pretty decent expectations. I want to start off by saying since this track was released, I have been listening to it constantly. Every time I get in the car I'm there putting it on repeat for my drive, everytime I go to listen to music, I'm going to be there listening to this track. I am well and truly obsessed with it. So, when I tell you that this song has blown my mind and really has beaten all expectations I had for it, I mean it. Pink Alligator has an infectious beat to it, and it's one of the catchiest tracks to be released recently. The tempo changes between the verses and the chorus are extraordinary, and this is honestly a certified banger. From relatable lyrics to an infectious beat, this is one of those songs that could wow the masses. This is a track that could impress so many people, and this is one of those songs that you can almost sense is going to do things for Those Without, and if it doesn't you'd be confused about it, because it's just incredible. This is one of those songs that I would go and get a tattoo for because I love it that much, and if this doesn't become one of my most listened to songs currently I'll be surprised. I'm well and truly obsessed with this, and I intend to showcase this song to everybody who's willing to give it a listen because it's that impressive! Pink Alligator is an anthem. This is such an anthemic track, that will blow your mind. This is one of those songs I won't shut up about for ages now, and if you listen to the track, you'll hear exactly why. This is such a belter, and I'm so blown away by it. There's so many incredible elements in the tracks, the guitar, the bass, the drums (honestly a big stand out feature for me) and the array of vocals. The way you can feel the emotion in the vocals, and you feel the way this song hits, and it's just insane. This is such a surreal track and one I am well and truly obsessed with. Those Without deserve to be one of the biggest bands in the scene, and this track is the perfect example as to why. I'm honestly speechless, and at a loss for words when it comes to explaining just how insane this track is. It packs the punch you expect it to and more. This is such a surreal track, and when I say you need to listen to it, I mean you NEED to listen to it. Overall, this is a surreal track. This is one of the strongest contenders for song of the year, and I'm well and truly obsessed with Pink Alligator. I will refuse to shut up about this track, and I cannot recommend enough that you go and check this track out and if you're not familiar with Those Without go and check out their discography. They're a solid band, and this track is no exception to that. Those Without are becoming one of my favourite bands at this point, and one that I cannot recommend you checking it out enough. Go give Pink Alligator a listen, and let the track blow your mind like it's blown my mind. It's such a catchy track, but it still has depth to it, and it's still impactful. It's not a catchy song that's just a carbon copy of every other catchy track, this is a catchy song with emotion, one with power, one that makes you feel things. This is a masterpiece of a track, and you really do need to go and check out this track. When it comes to my rating, I think we all know what rating this track is getting. Pink Alligator is a solid 5 out of 5 lemons track. I'd even go as far as to say it was a 6 out of 5 lemons track. This is one of the best tracks I've heard in a long time. I say it a lot, but this really is just an exceptional track and one that really has blown my mind. Please, go and check out Pink Alligator and show Those Without some love and support that they deserve.  Where To Find Those Without ;  Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube Apple Music   Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Skully and Ted's Bogus Journey by The Whether Channel

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we’re going to be featuring The Whether Channel again, as a few weeks back they released their new EP, Skully and Ted’s Bogus Journey.  I do have pretty decent expectations for this EP, because their previous EP was incredible!  The EP starts with Can’t Help but Feel Like a Stranger. This has a softer sort of vibe compared to a lot of the other tracks we’ve heard from The Whether Channel. It’s a great track, and I love the tempo change between the verse and chorus. Although not a major change, it’s still noticeable and something I do appreciate. I think it’s a nice song, maybe not something I would continually reach for just because most of the time I do like faster tracks, but it’s still a belter of a track!  The second track is Capacitance. This has a similar vibe to the previous track, the vocals give me blink-182 vibes, and I do like this track. Again, this may not be a track I’d reach for constantly, but this is still a good track and I love the vibe of this track. I think there’s so many beautiful elements within this track, and it’s definitely one worth checking it out! It’s decent and I’m a big fan of this track. I think I prefer this track to the last, and actually, although maybe not a daily rotation track, it’s one I could definitely put in weekly rotation. The tempo changes within this track are great, and really enticing and I really do rate this track.  The first track, is titled For Lack Of. Which has a spoken intro, which I think by now, we all know I really love. This is a very soft and slow track, this is a decent enough track. It had some subtle tempo changes within it, and it’s an alright track. Definitely not my favourite track, but it’s one that I can still appreciate. This track was quite long with a listening time the tracks up nearly a 3rd of the EP’s entire length. Therefore, for me to only have my attention gripped for the last minute or so, I was a bit lacklustre but that is personal preference. It’s still a good song, but that, for me, let’s it down.  The second to last track is Decadence. This is a great contrasting track from the previous track. This packs a decent enough punch, and is one of my favourite tracks on the EP! It’s a decent track, it’s got a great vibe to it, and it’s really enjoyable to listen to. It’s engaging, and just a generally decent track to listen to.  The final track is There is No Body Under That Garden Officer. This has a heavier vibe to the previous tracks on the EP, and is a stand out track. This is possibly my favourite track on the EP, and I quite like how the EP has started slow and soft, but ended up with a faster pace and a heavier vibe. This change was evident on track 3 as we saw the song start soft and slow and end with a punch. This is a decent track, and one that I really enjoy.  Overall, I’d give the EP a 4 out of 5 lemons. I like it, it’s decent. I do think I prefer the previous EP, but I do still enjoy this EP and there’s some incredible tracks on it. I’d recommend going and checking it out and it is a decent EP. It’s well worth a listen!  Where To Find The Whether Channel;  Spotify Instagram Bandcamp Apple Music  Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Escape Route by Autumn Fires

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about a blog favourite, Autumn Fires! They released their new track Escape Route on Friday, and of course, I had to bring you my thoughts on it, because Autumn Fires are an insane band! Now, judging by the fact I have loved every other release from Autumn Fires, and they're yet to leave me feeling disappointed, I had pretty high hopes and expectations for this track! From the start the song was able to grip my attention, I like the build-up from the start of the track to the end up of the intro. When the vocals kicked in, I was pretty impressive. I mean, I'm always impressed with Charlotte's vocals, but the whole song just gripped my attention, and I swear Autumn Fires get better and better with each track they release. I love the sound and vibe of this track, and everything just sounds incredible on the track. I love the feel of this track, and it's quite catchy. It isn't the most catchy track we've heard from Autumn Fires, but it's catchy enough to be a good song, and there's still some tempo changes in the track, which we all know is essential for me to enjoy a song. They're a little more subtle on this track, but I'm still here for it. I love the vibe of this track. This is a decent song, and I'm really impressed with it. It's a track that grows on you the more you listen to it, and it's a good track. Really impressed with Autumn Fires for this track, and it's yet another track where they've not disappointed me. They know what they're doing, and they have so much potential to achieve great things. They're such a surreal band and one that I cannot recommend you going and checking out enough, and this track is a clear example of why you should go and check them out! Overall, I'd have to give Escape Route another 5 out of 5 lemons! Autumn Fires just never disappoint, and I'm so impressed with this track, it's grown on me the more I've heard it, and it's a decent track. Would highly recommend you going and checking it out and showing Autumn Fires some love and support they deserve !  Where To Find Autumn Fires;  Facebook Instagram Twitter Apple Music Spotify Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Evergreen by Dude Trips

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're talking about Dude Trips again, after what feels like forever, but in reality, was only a few months ago. However, Dude Trips have returned with a brand new single titled 'Evergreen'. I was super hyped for this track to be released because Dude Trips never disappoint! They're an insane band, and one I have a lot of love and admiration for.  I've had Evergreen on repeat since it released on Friday. It's one of those songs that you can't only listen to it once, and then let the next song play, you need to listen to it on repeat. This is an incredible track, it's punchy, it's catchy, it's an infectious song, and it's got such a great vibe to it. I love everything about this track, and in my opinion, it's flawless. I love everything about it, the vocals, the lyrics, the guitar, the drums, the bass, everything about this track is incredible, and there are so many elements of this track that you can hear and appreciate for just how incredible they are. Evergreen, has tempo changes, it has a big, anthem-like chorus. It's an insane track, and one that I've very quickly become obsessed with, but I didn't expect anything else from a Dude Trips song. Dude Trips are such a surreal band. and this track proves it. The whole feel of this track is phenomenal. This is one of those standout tracks, that I would recommend anybody listening to. This is just insane. It truly is one of the best tracks to be released recently, and it's one of my all-time, favourite Dude Trips songs. This is up there with Tampa Bay and Through Love and Death. This is just that incredible of a track. I would recommend this song to anybody who's willing to listen to it, it's insane. It's catchy, it's impactful, it packs that punch you expect from Dude Trips, and it has their classic sound, with that bit of an edge. Overall, I'm obsessed with this track, and I cannot recommend it enough. This is going to be one of my most listening to songs currently, I just know it, and it's going to be one that I obsess over for weeks! This is phenomenal! Evergreen is a masterpiece of a track, and it's one that I would highly encourage you to listen to. Honestly, go listen to this song right now! When it comes to a rating, I think we all know what I'm going to give Evergreen, and that is a 5 out of 5 lemons! This is just an insane track, this is one of my favourite releases currently, and one that is definitely worth the hype.   Where To Find Dude Trips; Facebook Twitter Instagram Spotify Apple Music YouTube   Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@h

  • Rose Tinted Glasses by Zak Fox

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about Zak Fox and his debut EP Rose Tinted Glasses! Now, I've featured Zak Fox before, as I've reviewed his previous singles, but now he's decided to treat us to an EP! One of my favourite things about this EP is that although it's 4 tracks (plus an instrumental) neither of the tracks are ones that have been released previously. The EP opens with 15, this track gives me the same sort of vibes as Nice To See Ya.. did, but that's not a bad thing. I love the tempo of this track and the whole vibe of it. It's got a nice beat to it, and it's got a really cool vibe to it, it's a decent track, and that tempo change in the last minute of the song, is a nice little touch, it's a decent track, and a decent opening track. I'm pretty impressed with this track. The next track is the title track, Rose Tinted Glasses. I love the vibe of this track, more than any of the other previous tracks released by Zak, and that's saying something. It's still similar enough, to be a Zak Fox track, but it has a bit of an edge to it, it's got something to make it stand out from the rest. I'm really impressed with this track, and there are so many nice elements in the track to keep me engaged, and I think it's a pretty decent track. This may be one of my favourite tracks Zak has released. The third track is, The Way I Want To, which again, has a different vibe to it, whilst still sounding like a Zak Fox track. This is a slower track, it's not as bouncy or as intense as the other tracks we've heard from Zak, but it's still a good track. It's got a nice vibe to it, and it's a generally enjoyable track to listen to. It's something I can easily listen to without getting bored, and it's a decent track. This is a stand out track for me, and I'm really impressed with it. It's got a great vibe to it, and it's engaging to listen to. The final proper song is My Heina. This is another track with a different feel to it, but that's a good thing, as I like to be able to tell the difference between tracks. I love this track, and the way it makes me feel. It's got a nice beat to it, and it's a little faster in pace than the previous tracks, and it packs a bit more of a punch. It's a cool track, and I really like the vibe of it. It's a decent track and one that I really like. It's a classic Zak track, but it's got that edge to it, that makes it stand out, which seems to be the common theme with this EP. The final track on the album is an instrumental titled, sadboi. We all know my opinion on instrumentals, really not a fan of instrumentals. I get bored listening to them. However, I will say, as a final track on an EP, it's alright. It's not my favourite thing in the world, but it didn't go on for an excessive period of time, and I liked the transition from the end of the instrumental back to the start of the EP again. It's alright. Overall, this is a pretty solid EP. It's decent, and it's got some incredible stand out tracks on it, and it's an EP I would recommend checking out. Zak is incredibly talented, and this EP is proof of that. I think this is decent, and I'd give it a 5 out of 5 lemons. I know, I'm giving an EP with an instrumental a 5 out of 5. Shocking, but it's not a bad instrumental, it passed pretty quickly and it wasn't too dull or boring, so yeah, I'd recommend this EP. Definitely worth checking out!  Where To Find Zak Fox;  Spotify Twitter Apple Music Instagram    Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com
