- Anniversaries by Senior Living
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about Anniversaries by Senior Living. Senior Living is a punk/dream pop band from Albany, New York. Not too long ago, Senior Living released a short album/long EP. The release consisted of 9 tracks and a listening time of just over 25 minutes. The opening track is Carousel, this is a track that doesn't even last a minute and a half. Although this is a short song, it certainly packs a punch. It had a unique sound and feel to it, and as an intro track, I'm not mad at it. It's not a track I'm overly enamoured with, but it's decent enough. It's an alright track, but it doesn't blow my mind away. The second track is Depression OG, which I mean big mood. This track sounds a bit more like my cup of tea, and it seems to pack a bit more a punch than the previous track. I think this is a highly relatable track, and one that I'd definitely listen to a fair bit. It has a rough, not so refined feel to it. It's a decent track, it's a pretty solid track. I quite like it, and could imagine myself reaching for this song a fair bit due to the highly relatable lyrics. It kind of gives me The Front Bottoms vibes. The third track on the release, is 100 mg tabs, which I mean, also mood. This is a slower, more raw feeling track compared to some of the other tracks on the EP. It's an alright song, I'm not blown away by it, but I do think it has a bit of a unique sound and feel to it. It's decent enough, it's more of a mood dependant song for me. It's not my favourite, but it's not bad. Up next comes, anatomy/a sedentary lifestyle. This is more of an interlude than a track really, it's mainly a spoken track, and I do actually really like spoken tracks. I think they just add a little something to a release. So, I'm quite happy with this track. Although, this is a track I'd really only listen to if I was listening to the entire EP, I still think this is a good track. Washington Heights comes on next, and again, I'm not opposed to this track. This is a bit slower to some of the previous tracks, whilst still being a full band piece. It's decent enough, I'd actually reach for this song a bit more than some of the other tracks. It's got a lot more spoken elements rather than sung elements. This is a decent enough track, and I do really like it. The track that follows on is, Bigot. This is one of the faster, more angsty tracks on the EP. It's decent enough, it's not a bad track in any sense. It's definitely a decent track, and I think this track converses a good message with the lyrics. I quite like this track, and I'd probably put it up there with my favourite tracks from this EP. Dominick follows on, and it's one of the best tracks on the release. This is one of the tracks I like the most. It does what I expect of it, and a bit more. It's a decent track, and I'd probably reach for this track more than the rest of the tracks. I actually really like this track, and I think it's a pretty solid track. The penultimate track is Sourir, which I will be honest, I just didn't vibe with. It wasn't doing it for me. I was a bit bored of it after a while. I didn't really resonate with it. I've spoken about this many times, but long songs always fail to hold my attention unless they're something truly magnificent. I just struggled to pay attention to this song for long enough. The last track is, everyone dreams about dying. I mean the title itself is accurate. A large portion of this track is instrumental, which again, makes it hard for me to pay attention to the track. I get bored with large instrumentals. That's nothing against the band, I personally, just struggle with it. It sounds quite calming, and I love that about this track, I just wish there was a bit more to it. Overall, I'm not in love with this EP. There are some good tracks on it, but there's also some that really weren't for me. However, I am still going to give it a 4 out of 5 lemons, because although this isn't my favourite release I've ever released, it's still decent and I know loads of people will love this grungier sound. If you like artists like Prime (UK Band) and Nirvana and The Front Bottoms, then Senior Living could be the one for you. However, tracks like Depression OG, Dominick and Bigot were stand out tracks to me and I really like them. I think they're solid tracks. - Afternoon Superheroes by Elliot Mitchell
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I’m super excited to be talking about a new artist to the blog! Today we’re going to be talking about Elliot Mitchell’s track Afternoon Superheroes. Now, I didn’t really know what I was to expect going into this track, I didn’t know what vibe we were going for or if it was even going to be something I’d like. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Afternoon Superheroes is actually a pretty catchy track, it’s got a cool feel to it, and it is something that I would actually reach for. This has a pop-punk and like alt-rock sort of vibe to it. But I really like it, it’s actually a pretty incredible track. For a debut single, this is an especially strong track. Honestly, I think this is a decent track. I like that it’s for a nice beat to it, and it’s just got a great feel to it. It’s actually a really good song, and I’m really impressed with the track. There’s not much I can really point fault at either, especially when this is a debut single. This is a really impressive, strong track. It’s just got a great feel and vibe to it, and it hits the spot for me. I really like this track, and I can imagine this being a track I listen to a fair bit. I think this track proves that Elliot is a very talented musician, and Afternoon Superheroes is definitely a track worth your time and attention. Overall, I’m really impressed with this track! I really like this track and I think it’s a decent track. It’s something I’d definitely recommend you go and check out because it is a great track. I’d probably go with a 5 out of 5 lemons for this track. I’m really impressed with it, and it’s a solid track. I’ll be listening to it a fair bit, and I would highly recommend you going and checking this track out! I think it’s incredible. - wish u would just give it back by Misplaced
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're talking about another blog favourite again. Misplaced really are the gift that doesn't stop giving as they've dropped another new track! It doesn't seem like it was that long ago when they were dropping an EP, but they're back! wish u would just give it back is an incredible track, but I mean, what do we expect from Misplaced? Misplaced just know how to make incredible tracks. This is quite a short track, with a listening time of just over 2 minutes. This isn't the classic pop-punk sound that we've heard from Misplaced a lot, this is more comparable to the last singles they've released. I will be honest and say that this isn't my favourite Misplaced track because fuck that, i'm alright and idk why i try still exist, but this is still a great track. I love the feel of this track and I love hearing Misplaced experiment with their sound and band identity. I love that this is a different sort of track compared to the previous tracks we've heard from the lads. I still love the track though, because, honestly Misplaced could release anything and I'd rate it. I think it's a decent track. It's quite mood dependant for me though. If you like your lighter, more electronic sounds than the pop-punk sound that we've come to know and expect from Misplaced. I like this track, and I think it's quite refreshing. There's not really anything I could fault about the track, because although this isn't my all-time favourite track from Misplaced, this is still a great song, and although I personally prefer the pop-punk vibe from Misplaced, I still like this track, and if I think about the elements of this track then I think it's a decent track. Overall, although I have my favourite Misplaced tracks, and all that, I still like this song, and I'd still recommend it. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 lemons. It's not my favourite song ever, but it's good and the talent in the track is incredible too! - Perception by Charles Darling
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! We're back again with another new post, but this time we're going to be talking about the wonderful Charles Darling and his debut EP Perception. Now, I love Charles, he's a lovely person! We did a review of Electric Blue for him when he dropped that track, and of course, it was only fair that I made time to review his debut EP, which dropped on Friday! This EP does feature the timeless classic that is Electric Blue as well as 3 new tracks! The EP opens with Think Too Much. This is very much the sort of track I would always expect to hear from Charles. I love this track, and I think it's got such a nice feel to it. It's very much a classic sound for Charles and one that really does compliment his voice. This is such a nice, light feeling track. This is a great song to listen to in the summer weather we've been having recently. I just love this track, and the whole feel of it is just so nice and refreshing. Although, it's a sound we've all heard before, it's just got that summertime, refreshing feel to it. I love this track. I think it's insane. This is a solid opening track. The next track is Famous. This has a bit more of a pop-rock feel to it in comparison to Think Too Much. I love that there are some nice little tempo changes in this track, and I love the whole feel of this track. This is a stand out track for me and is possibly my favourite track off of the EP. This is the track that cements for me that this EP is a masterpiece. I love this track, and it's just got such a cool feel to it. Due to the fact this track sounds different, it's really refreshing to hear. It sounds different to the previous track, and different to Electric Blue, although, it's more comparable to Electric Blue than Think Too Much. But, I do love that this track has its own unique identity. I just love the whole feel of this track, and I think it's an incredible song and one I know I'll be listening to a lot! The third track is New York City. This is the last new track off the EP. This again has a different feel to it. This is a slower, calmer track, but I love the fact this EP is 4 tracks long and every track has a different feel and vibe to it. Although this track is slower and calmer, it still has some nice subtle tempo changes in it. This is not a song that I would reach for all the time, but I still love this track. I love everything about this track, and I think it's beautiful. I'd still listen to this track quite a bit, and I know this is a track that when I'm in the right mood, I'll reach for a lot. I think this is a magnificent track. The EP concludes, with the track everyone knows and loves, that being Electric Blue. No matter what, I will never get tired of hearing this track. It's insane. I love it. I did a full review of this track and I will always rate this track. This is one of the catchiest tracks I've ever heard, and this is just such an incredible track. I will always recommend this track, and I will forever love it. It's just an incredible track. Overall, I love this EP. Charles has done something magnificent with this EP. This is truly insane. It's a masterpiece of an EP. This is spectacular, this is definitely in the running for EP of the year. Charles never disappoints. Every track on this EP is different, but it's incredible. I love this EP, and I cannot recommend it enough. I'd have to give it a solid 5 out of 5 lemons because it truly is a masterpiece. I love this EP and everything about it. There's nothing I can fault, and I would definitely recommend you going and checking it out! - Don't Count Me Out by Protect Your Heart
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! It feels weird that I'm uploading for another day in a row, but honestly, I am booked solid for a few weeks. We have a new blog post coming every day until potentially the end of August. Anyway, a week or so ago, I had a pretty large influx of views, and new followers because apparently someone recommended the blog in a networking group. I'm not complaining, but because of this, we have quite a few new submissions! I'm super hyped about it, because if you're a regular around here, then you know I'm always game for finding some new bands to support! So, today we're going to be talking about Don't Count Me Out by Protect Your Heart. I went into Don't Count Me Out not knowing what to expect, I was told pop-punk and that's always good enough for me. From the intro alone, Protect Your Heart had managed to grab my attention. When the song properly kicked in with the vocals, I was in love. Don't Count Me Out is such an insane track, and I'm well and truly in love with all elements of this track. This is honestly such an incredible track. This track is insane! This truly is a spectacular song and one that I really love. There's nothing that I could really point fault at, and I just love the way this track feels. From the vocals to the drums, to the bass, to the lyrics and everything in between, this track is insane! This is a pretty catchy track, and it kind of reminds me of Every Avenue, and I'm just a big of the sound. It's a classic, timeless track. This really is just an incredible track, and I just know I'm going to be playing this on repeat for quite some time now. I'm honestly just obsessed with this track, and I love everything about it. This is a magnificent song, and it's a masterpiece. I'm well and truly obsessed with this track, and I know so many people are going to love this track because it really is just incredible. It's catchy, and it just offers such an enjoyable listening experience. I cannot recommend checking out this track enough. Overall, I'd have to give Don't Count Me Out a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. If I could give it more, I would, because I'm obsessed with this track! I cannot recommend you going and checking it out enough! This is a belter! Hands down one of the best songs I've received as a new submission in quite some time! Also, Protect Your Heart just dropped a new track, would anybody want me to drop a review of it? Anyway, go check this track out and show Protect Your Heart some love and support! They really do deserve it! - Disassociate by Light Grey
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Ah, it feels like forever since we last spoke about the ever so lovely, Light Grey. That may be because it has been nearly a year. However, a few things have changed with Light Grey since the release of the likes of Bitter. Light Grey is now a duo rather than a trio, the band took a step back for a few months, but they're back with their brand new single Disassociate. This track dropped TODAY! I'm so hyped about the fact they reached out to me and asked me to do some press for them a couple of weeks ago, and well, here we are! We're going to talk about Disassociate! Now, Disassociate has a different feel to it in comparison to the more popular and classic Light Grey tracks. Disassociate opts for more of an electronic and Twenty One Pilots and Waterparks feel to it. This doesn't mean that the song is terrible though. I really love the feel of this track, and I think because it has that different sound to it, it has a really interesting and refreshing feel to it. The chorus is a true stand out element of the track, which, is how I personally believe a chorus should be. I love the feel of it, and it's just such a great track. Disassociate is an incredible track and one that I really love! I think it's insane. I love the feel of this track, and I just know I'm going to be listening to this track a lot. It has that classic Light Grey twist to it, with its overly relatable lyrics and engaging feel to it. I honestly love this track, and I'm so glad Light Grey are back. Whilst, Bitter will remain my favourite Light Grey track, this is still an incredible song, and I do prefer it to some of their other tracks. Disassociate, whilst it may not be everyone's desired sound and feel, it's still an incredible track, that's worthy of so much love and appreciation. This sounds like a Light Grey track, so whilst it has a different feel to it, it's still very much a Light Grey track. I'm a big fan of this track, and the more I've listened to it, the more it's grown on me. I can't really fault anything about the track, it's got the tempo changes from the verse and chorus and I just really like this track. I can't really point fault at anything regarding this track. Well done to Ciaran and Mikey on this track! Overall, I really like Disassociate. I think it's an incredible track and one that I would highly recommend you going and checking out. This is a catchy track and one that has its own unique identity and doesn't sound like another version of a previous song. I'd have to give Disassociate a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. I love this track, I think it's great! Please, go check it out and let's show Light Grey the love and support they deserve. - Complete You by Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I'm excited to be talking about Chunk! again. If you didn't already know, Chunk! are one of my all time favourite bands, like in my top 5 sort of thing. They're releasing a new album soon, and I'm super hyped for it! However, today we're here to talk about the latest single from the upcoming album. The latest single is titled Complete You, and if the previous singles are anything to go off, this has a lot of potential to be an incredible track! Straight off the bat, I quite liked how the song sort of faded in, I really liked that. The first 30-40 seconds sound like the song is going to have a gradual build up throughout the track to a big breakdown or something similar to that, but by that 45 second mark my mind is blown. I like the tempo changes between the verses and the chorus. I love the way that AJ and Bert's vocals compliment each other so well on this track, and although, it wasn't as I originally expected it to sound, it's still an incredible track. The track doesn't have a big intense breakdown as such, but the way that bridge ends is so unexpected but so incredible. The sax really adds such a unique twist to this Chunk! track. I'm in love with this track. I was expecting this track to have more a comparable feel to Bitter or even Blame It On The Song, but it's not like either. I love the feel of this track. I love this! I love the unique twists on this track, and I think it's such an incredible move for Chunk! to make. This really is a surreal track. Complete You is such an interesting and funky track. I love this, this is such a stand out track already because it's different and unique. The sax solo really adds that little bit of spice to the track, and I'm 100% here for this track. This is also a really catchy track and I know I'm going to be having this on repeat for weeks. This truly is insane! I love this track! Overall, I think it's a bit obvious that I'm really impressed with this track. I think Chunk! have done such an incredible job on Complete You! I would 100% recommend checking this track out if you haven't already, it's catchy, it's more on the pop side of pop-punk, but it's different to the previous singles from the album, and I think that's incredible! I love that. This is very much its own single, and has it's own identity. I love it. When it comes to a rating, I've got to go with another 5 out of 5 lemons! I love this track! Honestly, I'm so impressed! Where To Find Chunk! - Dead Friends by Clay J Gladstone
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we see the return of another blog favourite, this time it's Clay J Gladstone! I always have so much praise to give this band, because truly, they are magnificent. They are an incredible band with a lot of talent to bring to the table. They're one of those bands that constantly release bangers, yet don't seem to get anywhere near enough recognition. Dead Friends is one of the darkest, grungiest, most emo tracks we've heard from Clay J Gladstone. This track has ultimate belter vibes, this is a track to lose your voice to. This is a track that deserves the same sort of reaction that Sorry got. Sorry was a spectacular song to scream at the top of your lungs and that's exactly what Dead Friends is too! This track is something else. This is one of my favourite Clay J Gladstone songs to date, and I cannot comprehend just how insane this track is. With a listening time of fewer than 3 minutes, this track doesn't lack anything. This is an incredibly punchy track, I love the lyrics to this track. I think this is one of the best tracks Clay J Gladstone have ever released, and this is right up there at the top with Sorry for me. I love the top tier vibes of this tracks! This is the song that I personally relate to the most, and let's just say, if I ever got a Clay J Gladstone tattoo it would probably be related to this track. I cannot fault anything about this track, and even the music video is incredible. It matches the feel of the track perfectly, and honestly, I cannot criticise anything about this track. This is my favourite track that's been released recently, and it's been on repeat since it was released, and it's going to stay on repeat for a decent amount of time. This track is truly, something else. I love this track with my entire being. This get's me so pumped, and it just hits the spot. When the band said I'd love this track, I didn't expect to be this blow away by it. This truly is an incredible track, and they were right, I do love this track so much! This song is everything! I think it's safe to say that this track is a 5 out of 5 lemons track. This is even a 6 out of 5 lemons track. This is everything! This track is exceptional. It has tempo changes, it's punchy, it's got a dark vibe to it and it just feels so incredible. This track gives me that euphoric feeling. This really is everything. I love this track from the vocals to the drums, to the bass to the vocals and everything in between. I'm blown away by this track! Please, go and check this track out, because it really is everything! - Seventeen by Autumn Fires
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about a blog favourite, and a band that always seem to blow all expectations with their tracks, that band being, Autumn Fires! I love Autumn Fires, and they always blow my mind with every track they release, so I had to bring you a review of this track, because they really are a spectacular band. Seventeen gives me Real Friends vibes, and it's just incredible. I love the whole feel and vibe of the track, and it has that incredibly, punchy feel to it that a lot of Autumn Fires tracks have. This track has a lot of energy in it, which isn't uncommon for Autumn Fires, but this just seems to pack a little more of a punch than some of the previous tracks. This is honestly a great track, and I'm well and truly in love with this track. It gives me big fuck you sort of vibes, and I live for that! I love the angst behind this track, and I think this is an incredible track in all respects. It's got incredibly vocals, but Charlotte's vocals never disappoint, it has such a great feel to it, and every other element is excellent. The guitar, the drums, the bass, and of course, my favourite, the lyrics to this track. Everything about this track is outstanding, and I love the feel of this track. I think this is an incredible track. This is one of the strongest singles we've had from Autumn Fires. They always seem to outdo themselves, but Waking Up In Vegas remained my favourite Autumn Fires track, but I think Seventeen is now giving Waking Up In Vegas a run for its money. This track just hits the spot for me, and I love it. I think this track is outstanding. This track is everything I could have hoped for and more, Autumn Fires are really out here proving just how incredible they are, and just how worthy they are of more love and support. Autumn Fires deserve such a large following with the talent they have, so please, go check this track out, if you haven't already. Overall, I think it's safe to say that I'm obsessed with this track. It's blown my mind. I'm honestly blown away by how insane this track is. This really is a spectacular song, and Autumn Fires deserve to see this song blow up. Honestly, this song is something else. If you haven't heard it already, please go and change that. If you've never heard of Autumn Fires before, then please go show them some love and support because they really do deserve it! Due to all of these positive emotions associated with this track, I think it's safe to say I'm going to have to give Seventeen a solid 5 out of 5 lemons! This track is insane! - Worst Friend by Keep This Up
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're talking about our lovely friends Keep This Up. I did a review of their debut single Punchlines not long after release, and now they've gone and blessed us with a new track titled Worst Friend. I loved Punchlines so I was super hyped for this track to drop! This is an incredibly punchy track, but what more did I really expect from Keep This Up? This is a magnificent single and one that has those early 2000's pop-punk vibes that we all seem to rely on to give us some serotonin nowadays. I love the whole vibe of this track, and it really does pack a punch. This is just such an insane track. This track gives such a great and enjoyable listening experience. There's nothing I can really point fault at with this track, yes okay, a lot of pop-punk tracks are all sounding like each other at this point, but this track just has its own unique little twist on the classic pop-punk sound. I love the lyrics, the vocals, the drums, the guitar, the bass, everything about this track is decent. I cannot fault this track, it's just as good as Punchlines, and it's got those nice tempo changing breakdowns in it, and that just wins me over automatically. I think this is a truly spectacular track and one that you should definitely check out if you like pop-punk especially early 2000's pop-punk! This track doesn't have that overly refined feel to it, that a lot of modern pop-punk tracks have, and I prefer the rougher/less refined feel compared to the overly refined sound. I think this is a great track and one that I'd highly recommend checking it out. I love the chorus to this track, it just gives me that juicy serotonin. Overall, this is a decent track, it's very similar to Punchlines, but it does have its own unique sound. I like this track a lot, and it's just as good as Punchlines. I'd have to give this track a solid 5 out of 5 lemons again! It's just an incredible track and Keep This Up are proving to be an incredible band and one that we need to pay close attention to, because they have so much potential and talent! I cannot recommend going and checking this track out enough! Honestly, please go check this track out and show the lovely lot in Keep This Up some love and support! - Can't Help Calling You by RAYGO BLOOM
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! It feels like forever since I was here talking to you about new music, but I'm back and we have a pretty packed few weeks ahead of us. So much content coming, new bands featuring all over the place, and lots of cool reviews to bring you! So, stay tuned for what's to come! Last week, RAYGO BLOOM released their track Can't Help Calling You, and after a few DM's with the band I was more than willing to do a review of the single, so here it is! This is what I think about Can't Help Calling You and if I think you should check it out. I would like to start by saying, that stereotypically this isn't the sound that I feature a lot on the blog, as this has a softer vibe and a more acoustic sound to the track, however, this track just has something to it that I love. I love the feel of this track, the whole vibe of it is just so nice and calming. It's such a beautiful track, the vocals really do compliment the sound of the track, and it's so beautiful. I love that although this is a very soft track, there's still something to it that makes the song stick. There's something to it, that just makes it stand out from a lot of the other soft, acoustic tracks. I can't really point fault with anything about this track, I think it's incredible, I love the vibes of this track, and the lyrics be out here getting me all emotional. I love this track, it truly is spectacular. For a soft, acoustic track this is one of the best I've heard in recent times. I can't really explain the euphoria this track gives me. It's just so beautiful and lovely to listen to. This is honestly such a surreal track, and I think RAYGO BLOOM have done an incredible job on this track. I love the feel of it, and I cannot recommend this track enough. If you like softer tracks, and you want a warm love song to listen to, then this could be the one for you. This is just incredible, I love the feel of it, and it just makes me feel so nice, and it's so calming and euphoric to listen to, it truly is a magnificent song, and I'd have to give it a solid 5 out of 5 lemons! - We’re All On Drugs by Dead Bundy
Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we’re going to be talking about a blog favourite, Dead Bundy! Dead Bundy blessed us with another new track on Friday, and it’s called “We’re All On Drugs”. This is a classic Dead Bundy track, is and one that packs the punch that most Dead Bundy songs seem to pack. I love the whole vibe and feel of this track, I love that there’s a great mix of different elements in the track to add that something to it, and to enable to the song to be engaging. There’s some subtle tempo changes, but they’re nothing dramatic, but I’m not mad at it. Honestly, this just isn’t a bad track whatsoever. I honestly think this a pretty solid track, and whilst it does sound similar to some of the previous singles from Dead Bundy, it’s very much it’s own track, there’s some similarities within the track which is what gives it that classic Dead Bundy sound, but there’s enough different elements for you to not feel as if you’ve heard this track before. I really like it though, and I cannot fault this track whatsoever. It’s got incredible elements in it, and I don’t think there’s anything I dislike or can criticise about this track. Dead Bundy have done an incredible job on this track, and honestly, I’m here for this track. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this track. Whilst it has a similar feel to some of the other singles, and has that classic Dead Bundy feel to it, it’s still a solid track, and one I’m pretty impressed with. I really like this track, and I think it’s incredible. It packs a punch, and like most Dead Bundy tracks it’s actually pretty catchy. I love this track, and I cannot recommend checking it out enough! When it comes to rating I’m going to go with a 5 out of 5 lemons. I have no criticisms, and it’s a decent song. It packs a punch, and it’s classic Dead Bundy. Honestly, this is an incredible track and one I’d highly recommend going and checking out!
