  • Local Band Forever by Aim High

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I'm super hyped to finally be talking about Aim High's debut album, Local Band Forever. I know there's been a bit of a delay about getting this post up but honestly, we've been booked solid, but we're finally here to talk about Aim High again.  Local Band Forever is a 12 track album, that features some of the singles we've come to know and love. A lot of the tracks on the album have been released previously, however, there are a few new tracks. I never go into mass amounts of detail if I've already reviewed the track, or it's not a new song to me, as a lot of my initial reactions aren't too memorable. After a song has been out for so long, I either like it, love it or hate it. So, I do apologise if this isn't the most in depth album review ever. Anyway, let's get into this. The album opens with $EZCORE$. This version is a little different to the version we've heard before, as it has a different spoken intro, but I quite like the added intro as I feel it's a great introduction to the album. Then we get to the song we've come to know and love, featuring the wonderful Dan O'Connor from Four Year Strong. I did a full review of this track, and I still love this track so much! I think this is still a wonderful track and one I would still recommend checking out. Next comes, Pajamas in Public, which I mean mood. This is a decent track and it features Reliance. I believe this to be one of the new tracks to the album, but I really like it. It has that classic Aim High feel and vibe to it, and it's just generally an enjoyable track to listen to. The tempo changes in the track are pretty obvious and they're really good. I love every single element of this track. I think this is a wonderful track and I would highly recommend checking it out. It's honestly insane. This is a solid track, and I can see myself jamming this track a lot. I'm pretty impressed with this track.  Third up is Eton Edicus, I did a full review of this track. I liked it then, I like it now. I think this is a solid track and one that I'd recommend checking out. It's still a decent track, it doesn't pack the same punch as some of the other tracks on the album, but this is still a solid track, and it features safehold. I really dig this track. It's decent. Following on is Better Than This which featured Broadside. Again, I've spoken about this track before. I loved it when I first heard it, and I still love it now. I think it's got such a nice feel and vibe to it, and it's just a solid track and one that I would really recommend checking out. This is honestly still an impressive track, and if you haven't heard it yet, you should give it a listen. Now we move onto, the ever-popular Gender Neutral Happy Meal featuring Belmont and safehold. I think everyone loves this track. It's catchy, it packs a punch, it's still as incredible as it was when we first spoke about it and when I first heard it. This was the first track I ever heard from Aim High and I fell in love instantly. If you've somehow managed to not hear this track already, go check it out. It's fantastic. Sixth on the album is Counterparts featuring Brendan Murphy. This is another solid track. I really rate this track, I love the whole vibe and feel of it. It's a surreal track, and it's just got so many incredible elements within the track that it's hard not to love it. It's one of the heavier tracks on the album, and I love it. There's nothing I can fault about it. It's definitely a solid track. Next comes one of my personal favourites, Drag This Out featuring In Her Own Words. I loved this song before, and I love it now. I just love In Her Own Words, so for them to do a song with Aim High is next level for me. I love everything about this track, and I really can't fault it. Honestly, such a phenomenal track, and if you haven't heard it already, please check it out. This is a slower track, but it still packs a punch. Now comes Home Is Where The Hea(r)t Is featuring Sleeping With Sirens and Like Pacific. I love all bands featured on this track, and again, I've reviewed this song previously. I've said how incredible it was then, and how incredible it is now. It's just such an insane track. It really packs a punch, and it does everything you want it to do and more. I love this track. I think it's insane. It's honestly a great track. Cannot recommend it enough. Track 9 is Empty Streets featuring Driveways, and I've spoken about this track again as well. I loved this track then, I love it now. It's an incredible track. It's solid. It's such a great track, and again, if you haven't already heard the track, then go check it out. It packs a punch, and it does everything you could want it to do, and more. Track 10 and we're nearing the end, comes in the form of Clear & Concise featuring glimmers. This again is a decent track, and the touch of Maggie's vocals is a nice touch. I actually think that this is surprisingly one of my favourite tracks off of the album. I think this track has a really nice feel to it, and whilst it is one of the softest tracks on the album, and is a gentle track, it's still decent. I really rate this track, and I think it's solid.  The penultimate track on the album is Penny Lane featuring Wilmette. This is another decent track. The intro had me thinking this wasn't my favourite track on the album, but when it kicks in, this track goes HARD! This is an intense track, with tempo changes that will engage the masses. I love the mix of vocals on this track as well. This is honestly a phenomenal track. I love this track, and to me, it's similar to the likes of Maniac by Four Year Strong. I love this track, there are so many surreal elements on this track, so would definitely say this is a stand out track on the album. The final track on the album is another track we've heard before, and that is Here Lies Kakarot's Hopes & Dreams. I love this track, and I think it's such an impressive track. I love the whole feel and vibe of this track. I think I mentioned this track in the introducing post, and I liked it back when I first heard it, and I like it now. I love the added vocals from The Home Team. Honestly, such an incredible track. This is just everything I could want and more. I love the whole feel of it, and I think it's just incredible. It's without a doubt one of my favourite tracks off of Local Band Forever. In conclusion, I love this album, and this could make it to the lemon awards for album of the year. I love this album. I just think it's insane. I cannot get enough of this album, and from start to finish it's phenomenal. This album is a masterpiece. I'm obsessed with it, and it really is a work of art. I can't fault anything about it, and it's just insane. I'd highly recommend checking this album out if you haven't already. I'm going to give Local Band Forever a solid 5 out of 5 lemons! I love this album. Honestly, highly recommend!  Where To Find Aim High;  Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube Apple Music  Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Dead Friends by Clay J Gladstone

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Now, I know there's not long been a post with the same title as this one, but for context, last week Clay J Gladstone released their EP, Dead Friends which does feature the previously featured single Dead Friends. However, we are talking about the EP today. I think everyone at this point knows I love Clay J Gladstone and they just never disappoint me. So, of course, I'm super stoked to be doing this post! Before we dive right into this, I will say what I say in every album and EP review. Some of these tracks were released as singles, and I reviewed the singles, therefore, I won't be saying as much about the previously released tracks off the EP, as I will be about the ones which haven't been released before. This EP opens with the title track, Dead Friends. I loved this track. I still love it now. I'm still obsessed with it! I think this track is truly magnificent. This track has everything I could want on it, and more. I love the whole vibe and feel of this track, and I have had this track on heavy rotation since it was released. This is just such an impressive track that really does pack a punch, and it's just insane. If you've somehow not heard it before, you're missing out, because this is just such an incredible track. Balance is the second track on the EP, and also the second previously released track. Now, I did a full review of this track, and I said then that it wasn't my favourite thing that Clay J Gladstone has done. It's good, I like it more now than I did then, but it's still not my favourite track, it doesn't measure up to Dead Friends, but I can see the appeal with it, and I do much prefer it now than I did when I first heard it. I loThe third track on the EP is Move On. I love the feel of this track, I think this has such a cool vibe to it, and it's just so enjoyable to listen to it. I love the lyrics, they really do pack a punch. In all honesty, I love everything about this track, there's nothing I could fault about it. I think this is such an incredible track, and I'd put it up there with Dead Friends and Sorry as best Clay J Gladstone track. This is honestly just such a cool feeling track, and it's just incredible. This is one of those tracks that has everything you could want and more, it really does pack a punch, and I think this is such a stand out track on the EP. I'm well and truly obsessed with this track. I can't actually process nor put into words just how much I love this track. This is one of those tracks that gives me that euphoric feeling, and it's just incredible. The fourth track is High School Drama (Violence). This is another really impressive track, I do prefer Dead Friends and Move On over this, but I still love this track. I love the feel of it, I think it's got such a great feel to it and it's like a love child between Dead Friends and Move On. I love this track, it's so intense and angsty, I just love it. I cannot fault anything about this track, it's incredible. Another solid track, that I cannot wait to be blasting on full blast in my car with the windows down. It's just such an anthem. This track is everything you could want from a track, and it's just incredible. I love everything about this track, and this is a track that deserves a lot more love and hype than it's getting. Penultimate track and we have another previous single, this time it comes in the form of People Like You. I did a full review of this track too, and I love it. I still love it now. It's such an incredible track, and it's just got a great feel and vibe to it. It's not my favourite off the EP, but I still love it. The chorus goes so hard, and the tempo change between verse and chorus again is superb. Honestly, love this track. The last track on the EP is Kinda Ugly. The whole feel and vibe of this track is incredible. This reminds me of early Simple Plan. I love this track, this has such a cool feel and vibe to it. This truly is a magnificent track, and the fact the EP has opened and closed with 2 of the most solid tracks in existence is a big yes from me. I've said many times how essential that is for me, and honestly, I just love this track. I cannot fault anything about it. Honestly, would highly recommend checking this track out. This is everything. I love every single second of this track, and it's just phenomenal. I think this is such an incredible track and one that definitely deserves a lot more hype than it seems to be getting. Honestly, cannot recommend this track enough! I'm blown away by it. After 5 decent tracks, you think the last one is going to be a dud but this is Clay J Gladstone and they had to give us 6 tracks of bops. I love it. I think it's easy to guess that I love this EP. I think this is a masterpiece of an EP. This is so impressive honestly. Clay J Gladstone has done such a surreal job on this EP. I'm obsessed with this EP, and I intend to play this on repeat for weeks. I love every track on this EP, with Dead Friends, Move On and Kinda Ugly being my staple tracks, but I love them all. Honestly, cannot recommend checking this EP out enough if you haven't already. I'd have to give this EP a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. It's insane how good it is! Honestly, go check it out if you haven't already!  Where To Find Clay J Gladstone;  Spotify Instagram Facebook YouTube Apple Music  Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Coffee and Co-codamol by Duke Silverhand

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're talking about another new artist! Today we're talking about Duke Silverhand, which I mean it's great that we're talking about a new artist, but it's even better than I'm returning to my roots, and talking about a Notts band! I know, shocking, honestly. So, Duke Silverhand are a 4 piece alt-rock band from Notts. I love Notts bands and I love alt-rock, so really, I can't go wrong here. Anyway, Duke Silverhand reached out to me a few weeks back and asked if I'd be up for doing a post, and I mean, Notts, alt-rock, you just know I couldn't resist this. Coffee and Co-codamol is the debut single from Duke Silverhand, and I mean the title itself is a big mood. This track has seen the light of day before, but not with Duke Silverhand. Anyway, I do quite like the feel and sound of the track, I'm not saying it's my favourite thing in the entire world, but I do quite like it. It's a bit different to a lot of the other alt-rock bands out there, and some of the other alt-rock bands we've featured on here. But, this is a decent track. It's good. I like it. I think the vocals are a stand out feature of the track for me, and I know you always pay a lot of attention to the vocals of a track, but the vocals on this track are incredible. I really love the feel of this track, and it's generally just a good track. I really like it. It's not my favourite thing I've heard, and I think it's got a sound that is comparable to the band that this song originally came from, and I mean that makes sense when it was previously their song, and Duke Silverhand has 2 previous members of that band. It's an alright track. It's not bad, I like it, it's good, I'm not in love with it, because I just want a bit more from the sound. I'm quite fussy with music, because, I can be. I've come to know so many small bands, that I know what I want in a track, and this track doesn't have the major tempo changes, and it's quite similar from start to finish. There's not much change within the sound. I like it, and I could listen to it for a while without getting bored, but I want a bit more from the sound. As always, this is a personal opinion, and a lot of people will really like this track. I think as a debut single, it's decent. I would be interested to hear what comes next for Duke Silverhand, but for me, there needs to be a bit more pizazz to the track Overall, I think I'm going to give Coffee and Co-codamol a 4 out of 5 lemons, I was going to say a 3.5 but it's alright. I don't dislike it, and if I think about other tracks I've given a 3.5 to, it's better than them, but I still want more from the track.  Where To Find Duke Silverhand:  Spotify Instagram Facebook Apple Music   Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • You Are The Reason I Hate Leaving by Dude Trips

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Ah, I'm so hyped for today's post! Today we're talking about the wonderful Dude Trips. I think at this point we all know I have a lot of love for Dude Trips, they just never disappoint. Well, they blessed our ears with an EP on Friday, and of course, I'm here to bring you a review of it! Now, we have reviewed 2 of the tracks on this EP previously, so as usual, I don't go into full detail about my thoughts on the tracks as there's a full review already up on the blog. Anyway, let's get into talking about this EP. The EP opens with Leaving, this is a very short track with a listening time of just over a minute. Now, although this is very much just an intro track, it's still beautiful. I think this is a fantastic opening track to the EP, and it's lovely. I really like it, there's not much to be said about it because it is just a short intro track, but it's still good, and I'm definitely a fan of it. Next up comes Evergreen. I did a full review of this track, and ever since I first heard it, I loved it. I gave it a 5 out of 5 lemons when I first reviewed it, and my opinion on the track is very much the same as it was then. However, I think I love the track even more now. I do reach for this track a fair bit, and it's just such a great track. It's a belter. It's got everything you'd want in it, and I truly just think this is a magnificent track. This is honestly such a surreal track and one that if you haven't heard already, you really should change that, because it's great, and it's also really catchy. The third track is 1964. This is another incredible track. This is a lot softer and calmer compared to the previous track, but it's very reminiscent of Through Love & Death for me, I think this is a beautiful track, but it does offer a softer listening experience. I think this is another wonderful song and it's definitely not like the previous tracks on the EP. I think this is a wonderful track, and that tempo change is extraordinary. I love that, and I think that's part of the reason I'd compare this track to Through Love & Death. This is honestly just such an incredible track. Polola follows on, and this is another extraordinary track. I love the whole feel and vibe of this track, and this is more comparable to Evergreen, but it's also got a faster feel to it. It does pack that same sort of punch though, and it's just incredible. I love everything about this track, and this may be my favourite track off of the EP. That's saying something considering how much I loved Evergreen, but this track is just next level. I love everything about this track, from the vocals to the drums, and everything in between. This is such a surreal track, and it gives me that euphoric feeling. I love this track, and this is a track to blast on the highest volume possible and scream to. This really is a surreal track and a stand out track on the EP. To say the track is nearly 4 minutes long it didn't lose my attention once, and I really do think this is a wonderful track. Definitely one worth checking out. The penultimate track is Stay. This track has a very similar sound and feel to it as Evergreen. It's a slightly slower pace than Polola, but it's still just as good. It's got everything you could want from it and more. I love that this is still a pretty intense track but still sounds a bit different to the other tracks we've heard on the EP. I really like it though, I think this is another extraordinary track and I'd highly recommend it. I think this is such an incredible track, and the lyrics are top-notch. I love everything about this track, and I'd highly recommend it. It's just insane. Honestly, Dude Trips have done a great job with this song! The last track on the EP is the other single that was released, which is Gentle. I did a full review of this track, and I loved it. It's a lot softer and more gentle compared to the likes of Evergreen, Polola and even Stay, but it's insane. This is a magnificent track. I much prefer Gentle now compared to when it was released, it just fits so perfectly as the closing track on the EP. It's a classic, soft, Dude Trips track, but it still packs a punch. It's definitely a decent track, and I think this is the sort of track that was missing from the EP. It's something that we'd all expect from Dude Trips, but it is just a bit different compared to the previous tracks. I still love it though, and I would highly recommend it. It's a great track, and it really does just add that finishing touch to the EP. In conclusion, I love this EP. I think it's beautiful. From start to finish, it's incredible. Every track serves a purpose on the EP, and this EP just hits the spot. I cannot recommend listening to You Are The Reason I Hate Leaving enough. It's just incredible, and I love all 6 tracks of this EP so much. Honestly, please go check out this EP. It's insane. This truly is in the running for EP of the year. I love every second of this EP, and it really is just incredible. I'd have to give it a solid 5 out of 5 lemons without a doubt because it's just THAT good! It's truly incredible, and I cannot recommend you checking it out enough! So, please, if you haven't heard You Are The Reason I Hate Leaving yet, then please, go check it out and give it a listen.  Where To Find Dude Trips; Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube   Apple Music Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Recent Releases: MeeN, Taxi With Strangers, The Blams and Alabaster the Wicked

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we’re doing another combination post just because I had to have a couple of days off to have a little break. However, I’m back! Today we’re going to be talking about 3 different tracks. I was sent some of these tracks from PR companies in the past couple of weeks, I’ve worked with some of these companies before so I’m always happy to take their new submissions.  So let’s talk about MeeN first. MeeN is a stoner rock band from Atlanta. MeeN released their debut single last month, Wizards Feast. Wizards Feast isn't a track I really expected to enjoy. I didn't really know what to expect going into this track. I can't actually say this track wins me over. It's got some cool elements within it, but it just lacks something that really certifies it as a banger. It's alright. It's not extraordinary, but it's alright. The vocals are really nice on this track, but it's very samey throughout the entire track, and that lets it down for me. There are no major tempo changes that come out of nowhere, however, the guitar riffs in the track are incredible. The vocals and guitar are the 2 stand out elements of this track for me. I like this track enough, but it's not revolutionary. It's something we've most definitely heard before, there's nothing new and refreshing, and it gives me Red Hot Chilli Pepper vibes at points, and it's just an alright track. It's decent, but me being me, I want more pizzazz as I've heard a lot of songs, and for me to give a track a 5 out of 5, it needs something substantial to make it stand out from any other track of the same sound. This track for me lacks that last bit of pizzazz. Therefore, I'm giving this track a 4 out of 5 lemons. It's not bad, but it's a very mood dependant song for myself, and it just doesn't pack as much of a punch as I maybe expected it to. Where To Find MeeN:  Spotify Instagram Facebook Apple Music Now, let's talk about Voelas by Taxi With Strangers. Now, I have done a post on Taxi With Strangers before, and I did quite like the track I reviewed, so I've got pretty decent expectations for this track as well. The feel of this track doesn't hit the spot for me like the previous track I reviewed did, as this has a lot more of an indie feel to it, but I'm not opposed to it. There are some incredible elements on this track, and I think the vocals are lovely. I do actually quite like this track, I'm not obsessed with it like I was with Let Loose, but I do quite like it. It's got a pretty cool feel to it, with some nice little tempo changes. I do think this is a decent track, and there's not really much to criticise, my main fault with the track is that there are other tracks I much prefer. Besides the fact that the track's sound isn't something extraordinary for me, then I do like this track. I think it's decent enough. it's alright. I'm not blown away by it, but I like it. It's another mood dependant track for myself, but I do rate it enough, and I would recommend checking it out! Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 lemons.  Where To Find Taxi with Strangers;  Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube   Apple Music Now we move onto the second to last track we're going to talk about, and this is Throwing Rocks by The Blams. Now, I was approached on both Insta and emails for this track, and I liked the first single The Blams put out so I thought why not feature this track. Now, I really like this track. It's got a nice feel and vibe to it. I like the vocals, I love the whole sound of this track. It just does something for me. This has an edge to it, this track is extraordinary. I love the feel of this track, and I just think it's a great track. No major tempo changes or anything, but the whole style of the track is just engaging to listen to, so it manages to hold my attention. I love everything about this track. I think it's got such a nice feel to it, and it just generally impresses me. This is an impressive track, and it proves that The Blams are worthy of a place on your playlists. This is such a great track, and the whole vibe of it is just a massive yes from me. I think this is great! I love this track, and I cannot recommend it enough. I think this is such an incredible track, and I'd highly recommend checking it out. It's great. Overall, I'd give this track a solid 5 out of 5 lemons! I love this! Where To Find The Blams: Spotify Instagram Twitter Apple Music The last release I want to talk about isn't really a recent release, but I was sent this as a submission, and because of my few days off, I've gained a bit of a backlog, so I'm trying to get as many reviews done as I can, so let's talk about Alabaster The Wicked's EP False Negatives. The EP opens with God's Favourite Son. This track has a bit of a Modern Baseball feel to it. I like this track, and I think it's a solid opening track. It has that tempo change that you would expect with a song that starts quite slow and soft, but it does get better, so because of that, I love this track. I think this is an incredible track, and it's really impressive. I love it. The second track, Freedom, was just as great as the previous track. This has the same sort of feel to it, but with some highly relatable lyrics that really hit home currently. This is another track that I'm pretty impressed with, there are some tempo changes in the track, and I just generally like this track. It's decent. The next track is Caught In A Loop, and this again sounds really good. It's got a similar feel as the previous two tracks, but a little bit different. I like this track, and all three tracks seem to be following the same structure, so I guess, my criticism currently is that 3 similar tracks could make them all seem to merge into one. I do like the track however, I think it's decent and I really like the vocals that accompany all of these tracks. It's another decent track, but I want a bit of change, a bit of something else. Up next comes Art, and this track has a spoken intro, however, it's like a minute and a half long. I love spoken intros, but it's quite long, and because of the intro, the track is over 5 minutes long so I feel this is a track that makes me lose interest quite quickly. I like it, but I do find myself losing interest in it. It's decent, but for a track that's 5 minutes long, it needs something spectacular to hold my attention, and this song doesn't have that. By the point, anything happens, I've lost interest. So, that is a big criticism. Second to last is, Silver and Gold. I like this track. This track is half the length of the previous track, and it has something that holds my attention. It has an interesting feel and vibe to it. I like it. It's decent. It's quite cool and funky. This is definitely a more impactful song than the previous track. The last track is, Apollo, which again is half the length of Art. This track, however,  doesn't seem to pack as much of a punch as some of the other tracks on the EP, and as a closing track, I want it to be incredible. I've spoken many times about how I believe an EP or album should have a solid opening and closing track so that when I think of that EP or album I'm left thinking about how great it is. It's an alright track but it's not revolutionary. Therefore, I'm going to give the EP a 4 out of 5 lemons. There are some incredible tracks on the EP, but Art and Apollo let it down in my opinion, but that is a personal preference. So, because of Art and Apollo, I'm going with a 4. I still rate the EP, and I'd still recommend it, but some tracks just didn't hold my attention.  Where To Find Alabaster the Wicked:  Spotify Instagram Apple Music Where To Find Me:  Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Beautiful Child by Tony Meade

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we’re going to be talking about another artist I’ve never featured before. Today’s artist is Tony Meade. Now, a couple of weeks ago I got an email from Tony sending me a submission and all that, and we know what I’m like at this point, I try and accept every single submission that lands in my inbox. Anyway, let’s get into this post.  The track we’re going to be talking about is Beautiful Child. Now, okay, let’s start off by saying this isn’t a sound I listen to that much anymore. It’s got old school, classic rock vibes to it. It’s got those elements that are comparable to 80s rock. I’m not opposed to it, and 80s rock is what really got me into music, but it’s just not a sound I gravitate towards anymore. This is a great track though, I love the whole feel and vibe of it. I think it’s got some incredible musical elements to it, and it’s defiantly a track that a lot of people would find enjoyment in.  From listening to it, I wouldn’t really say there’s much I can point fault at, like everything good on it. It’s got so many great elements to it, it’s just not my favourite sound anymore. I still like it, but nowadays I do prefer something with a bit more of a fast paced kick to it. It’s still a good song though, and I am pretty impressed with it. It’s not a bad track in any respect but yeah, if you like music with old school rock vibes to it, then this may be a great track for you. However, keep in mind when I say old school, like 70s and 80s rock I mean soft rock. This isn’t a heavy track in any respect, but it’s still a good track.  I’m not saying I’m in love with the track, as it’s more of a soft rock track, with a more ballad like feel to it, which there’s a lot of options for if that’s the sort of music you wanna listen to. However, I do still like the track and I think it’s a decent enough track. If this is the sort of thing you like listening to then I’d recommend checking it out, if you like music with a bit more of a kick to it though, it’s maybe not for you. Overall I’d probably go with a 4 out of 5 lemon rating. It’s decent enough, but something I’d only listen to if I was in the mood for it.  Where To Find Tony Meade: Spotify Instagram Facebook YouTube Apple Music   Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Forget Me Not by All Along

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we’re talking about another new band to the blog, and today that’s All Along. They reached out to me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I’d be willing to do some blog content regarding their single Forget Me Not! Of course, this being me, I said yes! So today we’re going to be talking about All Along and their single Forget Me Not.  Let’s start off with saying how much I love the late 90s/early 00s pop-punk feel of the track. I love that rough, not overly produced sound. This is a track that I really dig going off the sound. I think it’s got a great feel and vibe to it. It’s got a nice, refreshing feeling and a sound that we’re seeing a resurgence of currently. I really like this track though.  Forget Me Not has a catchy feel to it and it just has a nice groovy feel to it. I’m actually a pretty big fan of this track! I think it’s decent, it’s not my favourite song ever but I think it’s decent and I could listen to it for at least an hour and not complain. There’s nothing I can really fault about the track. It’s decent, it’s got some little tempo changes, and I really like that.  There’s some cool element within the track, and I really can appreciate just how great this track is. I do really rate it and I think it’s solid. I like the chorus a lot. Like just the whole feel and vibe of the chorus is a big yes! Honestly such a belter of a track.  In conclusion, I really like Forget Me Not. I think All Along have done an incredible job of this track, and it really does pack a punch. It’s got a nice feel and vibe to it, and it’s very nostalgic feeling with the whole sound of the track. I can’t fault anything about it, it’s a really good track! It’s solid! So, I’d have to give Forget Me Not by All Along a 5 out of 5 lemons. I really do rate this track! I’d highly recommend going and checking it out! It’s solid!  Where To Find All Along:  Spotify Instagram   Facebook Apple Music   Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • britannia mills by downcast

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're finally going to be talking about downcast again! If you need a reminder on who downcast are they're the band that did the track catharsis and made the bands personality traits talking about catharsis and calling everyone a dumbass. I love this lot though, they are an incredible band. They have so much talent and they just know how to make so many belters! Well, a few days ago, on Friday they released their new single britannia mills, and that's what we're going to be talking about today! The intro to this track is a lot darker and heavier than previous releases from downcast. However, this track packs a punch. This is an insane track, this is such an incredible track. This is a powerful song with such an incredible feel to it. I love the whole vibe of this track. Although heavier in sound than catharsis, it's just as good. I love everything about this track, from the vocals to the drums, to the guitar, to the bass, to the lyrics, and everything about this song is insane. I just love the whole feel and vibe of this track. This is another impeccable release from downcast. I don't want to say this is like catharsis 2.0, but it's honestly that good. This track deserves as much as we've all hyped up catharsis because this is another track from downcast that you can scream at the top of your lungs. This track goes so hard, and if you sit and actually listen to the lyrics, I mean I find it oddly comforting and highly relatable. This is just such a powerful track with strong emotions. I love this track, and I think it's incredible. I cannot pick fault with anything about this track. It's just such a strong track. I love it. I think this is an incredible track and one that really does deserve more love. I know it's only been out a couple of days, but britannia mills deserves the same love and hype catharsis got because this track is just as good. I know some of us may think, how could downcast told catharsis because it was catchy, and it was just such an incredible track. However, britannia mills is like a darker, heavier, catharsis. It has the same sort of feel and vibe, but it's just so much more intense. This is one of those songs you could listen to on repeat for weeks and still find new elements to admire because it really is such a spectacular track. I'm honestly obsessed with this track, I've had it on repeat since its release, and I still love it and I'm not sick of it yet. This truly is a magnificent track. It's a masterpiece, that's how good this track is. This is one of the best songs I've heard in the past few weeks. This is honestly just such a surreal track, it's something else honestly, it's just that good! I'm in love with this track, and I think it's a track that deserves so much more love and support than I'm seeing people give it. Honestly, obsessed with this track. It's insane, I cannot recommend you going and checking it out enough. If there's one release you've seen me talk about this past week that I recommend you listen to the most, it's britannia mills by downcast. This track is everything! Please, go check it out and show downcast the love and support they deserve on this track! As you'd probably guess from all my positive comments, I have to give britannia mills a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. I'd give it more if I could because this is like a 6 out of 5 lemons track. It's just THAT good! You need to hear this track. It's insane.  Where To Find Downcast:  Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube Apple Music Where To Find Me:  Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Daisies by Chris Pidsley

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're talking about Daisies by Chris Pidsley. We've spoken about Chris before as we reviewed Alex's House, but Chris dropped an EP on Friday and I was asked if I'd be willing to do some blog content on it, and of course, I said yes! So, here we are! Daisies is a 5 track EP with a listening time of nearly 23 minutes. All the tracks on this EP are of a substantial length. The EP opens with Tie Dye T-Shirt. This is the longest track on the EP, but surprisingly the intro isn't overly long, and for a 5-minute long song, it actually manages to hold my attention pretty well. It's a decent track, and whilst it's got a softer feel to it, and seems a lot calmer, it has that tempo change that hits the spot! I like this track a lot, it's got a really nice feel to it, and it just sounds so incredible. I love this track and I truly think it's a wonderful track! I'm really impressed with it, and I would highly recommend checking this track out. It's really good, it's quite an interesting track with so many incredible elements to catch your attention. This is a solid opening track. The second track is Listen To Your Mum. This track again starts quite softly. I like the whole feel and vibe of this track, and I might actually prefer it to the previous track. It's got such a nice, refreshing feel to it, and I think it's a wonderful track. I love the feel of it, and I just think it's wonderful. I'd highly recommend checking this track out, because it truly is something else. I love this track a lot, and although it's quite soft, and has a very summer like, spring feeling, it's still an engaging track to listen to. This is great track, and I really love this one! The third track, the half way point, is Daisies. The title track, and this is another unique track compared to the other tracks, it's similar, but it has it's own unique identity. I like that about the tracks on the EP, they're all different, whilst still sounding similar. This is a lot softer, it has a calmer feel to it, and it's just a beautiful track with incredibly beautiful elements. I love this track, and the vocals on this track are extraordinary. The vocals really do win me over with this track. I'm well and truly in love with this track, and it's just so incredibly beautiful. I love the little changes in the tempo, and the whole feel and vibe of this track. It's great! The penultimate track is, Skinny. This reminds me of some tracks we've heard from Lewis Kelly. It's got a nice feel to it, and it's a lot more full on compared to the previous tracks. I love this about this track though, it's faster, it's got a different feel for it, and it's just another great song. I can't really fault anything about this track, and I just love the whole feel of it. I think this is an insane track, and I think it just sounds great. I love this track! This is another impeccable track. The last track is Rosie. This is another soft track, it's got a calmer feel to it, and it's just very beautiful. This is an incredible track, and I really love the feel of it. It's an incredible track, and the fact that this is such a soft track really emphasises that. I really like this track though, although, I wouldn't reach for this track as much as the previous tracks, just because it's so soft, I'd still reach for it a fair amount. This is the softest track, and it's very much a beautiful, acoustic track. I love it, and it really is beautiful. Overall, I'm going to give Daisies a 5 out of 5 lemons. I couldn't really fault anything about this EP, and it truly is a beautiful work of art. I love this EP. I'd highly recommend going and checking it out. I think my standout track are Daisies and Skinny. I just think this is a magnificent EP, and it truly is beautiful! Please, go check it out if you haven't already!  Where To Find Chris Pidsley;  Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube Apple Music Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Unbroken by RadioNot

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about another new artist to the blog! Honestly, so exciting talking to you about new artists! So, today we're talking about Unbroken by RadioNot. Now, Richard reached out to me a week or so ago, and asked me if I'd be up for featuring RadioNot, and you know I always try and accept every submission we get here, because, it's my life goal to support as many small bands as possible! From the intro, I quite liked the feel of this track. It's definitely a lot poppier than some of the other artists we've featured recently, but I'm still a big fan of the sound. I like the whole feel of the track and it just gives nice pleasant vibes. This track does have little kicks of something special though like this track definitely packs a punch. I love the kick this track has to it, and I think it's just a pretty interesting track to listen to. It has that classic mainstream radio pop feel to it with the vocals because those vocals are perfection are something else! However, it just has a little something to it that makes it stand out from the crowd, and I love that. I think this is an incredible track and one that definitely packs a punch. It's a beautiful track and one that offers a lovely listening experience. I get Emma Blackery sort of vibes from this track, but I love it. I honestly love this track, and I think it truly is a wonderful song. I love it, I could easily listen to this song on repeat for an hour and not complain. It's just such a versatile and easy listening track. I truly do love this track, and I think it's wonderful. Overall, I would recommend going and giving this track a listen. It's incredible. I love the feel of this track, and it just radiates great vibes. I think this is a track that so many people would love, and it's just super easy to listen to. RadioNot have a lot of talent and that's very obvious, but honestly, I love this track. I think this is a magnificent track. Cannot recommend you going and checking it out enough! As a result of all these positive emotions I have for this track, I'd have to rate it a solid 5 out of 5 lemons! This is an incredible track, and I would highly recommend checking it out!  Where To Find RadioNot:  Spotify Instagram Twitter Facebook YouTube Apple Music Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com

  • Some Songs by Lovewell

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about a new band to the blog, Lovewell. Mark reached out to me a week or two ago and asked me if I'd be up for doing some content. I, of course, said yes! They dropped this EP today! Literally today the 30th of July. Which I mean, shocking that I'm doing content on release day, but anyway, I'm super hyped to be talking about this EP!So, Some Songs is a 3 track EP. I love that the listening time is under 10 minutes, so if you're doing a short car journey or just doing a quick task, you can play this EP whilst you do that. I like the convenience factor of this EP. The first track is Sightseeing. This is a track they've released previously, but it's just such a nice feeling track. I don't exactly know why but it gives me Have Mercy sort of vibes. I think it's got a nice feel and vibe to it, it's got some beautiful vocals on the track, and I just think it's a nice, sort of warm feeling track. It's not really got any elements that I can point fault at, and it just gives me that euphoric feeling. I love this track. It truly is a magnificent track. I really love this track and the whole feel and vibe of it. It's a solid track. It never lost my attention once either, so that's great. The second track is Keep In Mind. This has a similar vibe to the previous track, and I think the transition from Sightseeing and Keep In Mind is lovely. I really like that Keep In Mind seems to pick up where Sightseeing left off. I also love that this track has a few heavier elements in it, I love that. Again, I can't really fault anything about this track, and as much as I loved Sightseeing I do prefer Keep In Mind, I love the tempo change between verse and chorus, I love the way this track feels and just presents itself. I really dig this track. This again is a magnificent song. I'm really impressed with it! The last track on the EP is Bother. This is a slower track in comparison to the previous two, and after listening to the other two, is kind of what I expected. I think after the first two tracks, you just know the direction of this EP, and you really gain an understanding of it. I like this track, although it is a slower track, and we all know slower tracks often make me want to press pause, this track doesn't. This track still has enough going on to keep me engaged whilst the vocals and the whole vibe of the track is a lot slower in comparison. I do still rate this track, and I do think this is a phenomenal track. I do prefer the other tracks, but this track serves a purpose, and it has its place on the EP, and it is the perfect concluding track for this EP. Overall, I am really impressed with this EP. I think it's incredible. It's an EP that flows perfectly together. One track starts where the last one left one. I just really like this EP. Keep In Mind is definitely my favourite track, but I like all 3 tracks on the EP, and I just really rate this EP. I think this is a solid EP, and one I would highly recommend checking out. If you're unfamiliar with Lovewell, then go check them out. They're really talented. This is a great EP, that I really cannot point fault with. Everything works and flows how you'd expect it to. It's just great. It really is a magnificent EP. Due to all of these positive feelings I have for Some Songs, I have to give it a 5 out of 5 lemons! This is a great EP, and I cannot recommend it enough to you! Where To Find Lovewell: Spotify Instagram Facebook YouTube Apple Music   Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time)  Twitter Instagram Facebook My Novel  Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify) For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com
